My Journey
It all started when I was a little boy . . .
Nah, I am kidding! I would not do that to you.
As much as I have had some success (among all my hustling), I have not had the most outstanding life to begin with either. I mean sure I have been incredibly privileged and am so grateful for the devoted love of my family and friends. Largely though, it’s because I have been graced with that love in my life that I don’t have the usual rags to riches story for you, (#sorrynotsorry). I tell you this because, simply put, my parents successfully hustled to provide the best they could for my siblings and myself, so they are a testament to my life now.
And it’s because I watched my parents strive, that I was able to learn to strive too.
They taught me an important lesson indirectly through their actions and that is, that if you want it bad enough you can get it! They did not sit me down and say “Jaryd, what do you want to be when you grow up?” with all that type of pressure that parents are putting on their kids these days so they can live vicariously through them. But I guess they didn’t do this because they probably knew they would receive a cheeky reply of “I don’t want to grow up”.
By their own admission, they could already see I had determination from a very young age.
To be honest, as I child I always wanted to make a lot of money. Which I am not overly proud to say that now, because that drive initially came from materialism. However, It wasn’t until I started to experience life and really be able to travel the world that I realized any wealth I should gain wouldn’t be put towards materialism, but instead towards something much more gratifying and bigger than myself.
Which is something that I am working towards, but that is another story for another time.
For now, you just want to know the juicy bits on how I got to where I am at this present day, and whether I am supposedly a guru in the field of buying online businesses, right?
You see, my sheer desire to earn a decent and regular (passive) income from a minimal amount of personal input paved the path to this point of where I am at now. This desire was all necessary so that I could simply fulfill my aspiration to travel and explore the world without repeatedly needing to return home every so often to hustle my heart out to earn more money in order to take off overseas again, and again. Whereas I have repeatedly done this in the past. But I certainly prefer coming home to spend time with family and friends, and not because I have to spend my time working my tail off.
Although I was hustling,
I just wasn’t hustling in the right direction.
So by researching I the found that the best option to be able to achieve this lifestyle I desired was by using the Internet as my tool. So, I promptly got to work!
I hustled day in day out (as I always do) by working tireless hours in my job as a supervisor for a construction plumbing company, which would allow me to save up enough to invest in the stock market online. I also tried network marketing; I too started blogging each day and even built myself an online business.
What I soon realized though, was that I was not sticking to the old saying of “work smarter, NOT harder”. Something all the tradies (construction workers in Aus) on the job site would tell me I needed to do as a young apprentice. I guess that is kind of bitter sweet though right, because in the end when you think about it, they are still working harder…
Therefore, although I was hustling, I just wasn’t hustling in the right direction.
I then started to use my brain a bit more (and by a bit more, I mean a lot more). I started to work smarter and not harder so to speak. But what I also soon realized was, that in the harsh life of an entrepreneur 90% of ALL start up businesses FAIL in the first 12 months!
Crazy right!
No wonder I was having a tough time building a blog, a web business and my own home based business! The cold hard facts were that the universe was not in my favour. But how could I get it to work in my favour for that matter?
This was this very question that lead me to my BIG Ah-Ha moment, to the point of realization that I was searching so hard for.
My Ah-Ha moment that clarified for me, instead of building online businesses why not buy established online businesses? Businesses that have been put to the test already. Businesses that have passed that dreaded 12 month failure mark.
I could start to buy online businesses where I could reap the benefits of someone else’s hard work. Online businesses that would provide me with an income as soon as I put the money down to invest and on top of that, allowed me to do very little work, if any at all.
Talk about working smarter, NOT harder!
And although I already had some experience in blogging and building an online business. I still did not know all the ins and outs of buying online businesses as investments. Therefore, I buckled down and started learning to gain as much knowledge as I could. Every day I was learning new and exciting things about buying online businesses where I was super eager to put that knowledge to the test.
Eventually it came time to turn all that knowledge that I had acquired into practical skills and put those into fruition. And something amazing happened.
With the very first online business I purchased, I started earning money every single month! This for me was huge, never before had I started earning money every single month for doing next to nothing. Thats right, the website I bought required no work at all and money just came into my bank account every month!!
That was the tipping point, I immediately new I had hit the jackpot. It was right at that very moment that I knew this was my ticket out of the rat race and into the dream lifestyle I was working so hard to achieve.
If you always do what you have always done,
you will always get what you have always got.
But I couldn’t stop there, I had a lot more work to do.
So I literally spent most of my time learning more, attending seminars, reading and researching as much as I could to minimize my risk and increase my income with the next online business that I wanted to purchase.
Then the time came, to buy my second online business. And I am proud to say that all my hard work paid off, because my very next online business investment netted me the most AMAZING ROI ever!
After JUST the very first month, I received a 20% return on investment! Which, I was actually quite shocked with to be honest.
Then, something even more amazing happened.
Within just 7 months from buying that online business I had earned an insane 100% return on investment!
That means I bought a business and just 7 months later I earned all that money back! Whilst still owning the business AND earning passive income every single month!
It was at this point that I started increasing the purchase price for online businesses that I researched and I continue to refine my skills, knowledge and expertise. From doing this I was earning more money online than my day job and decided I could finally exit that rat race, quit work and travelled the world! That was it; I had achieved my life’s goal.
Now sure, whilst that felt like the most fulfilling achievement ever, I still felt something was missing.
I felt that although I was just your average Joe, I was still able to achieve amazing results. Results that enabled me to now live my ultimate lifestyle and I thought that if I could do this for myself, why not do it for others and help them achieve their own ultimate lifestyle.
So today, apart from travelling the globe while I earn a passive income from my online business investments, this is what I am all about now. Helping people to achieve their own goals, to have a better lifestyle with more time, more money and more freedom, all through buying profitable online businesses.
I mean, I must admit I have been selfish enough and worked hard on myself enough to achieve this, why would I not want to help others with all the expertise, skills and knowledge I have acquired. It would just be a shame to hide it when it can help people. After all (and as corny and cliché as it is) the quote from Margaret Fuller says it all too well – “If you have knowledge, let others light their candle in it”
So if you are sick and tired of working long hours, and not having either the time or the money to do what you truly want in your life, maybe it is time to turn a new leaf and light your candle.
After all, they do say, “If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have always got”
